Welcome to the CCCD

2013 Monadnock Localvore Workshop Calendar is Now Available!

1780 FarmPlease Help Us Spread the Word About Your Farm!

We're compiling a consumer-friendly Monadnock Guide to Local Farms! Would you like to be included?

As you probably know, CCCD has a database of local farms. But we want to go public! To do that, we need to make sure our information is up-to-date, and of course, that we have your permission to include your farm in the Guide.

This effort is part of a USDA grant that the Cheshire County Conservation District is spearheading. The objective of the grant is to increase levels of awareness among all Monadnock region consumers about the benefits of buying from local farm stands, CSA farms, and farmer's markets - and making it as easy as possible for consumers to find those places to shop. Our goal is to help increase local direct farm sales.

To be included please send me an email by May 20th with the following information, amanda@cheshireconservation.org :

  •    Farm name
  •   Farm owner(s) name - one name or ability to accommodate couples
  •  Address
  •  Phone number
  •  Online At (accommodate either a web address or a Facebook address)
  •   Email address
  • How you sell, categorized by: farm stand (FS); community shared agriculture (CSA); farmers markets (FM); Pick Your Own (PYO); and select local retail stores (LR)
  • What you sell, 100 characters describing your farm and items you sell.  Here are two examples:  Ex. 1.  PYO blueberries, rasberries, and strawberries and tree fruit including apples, pears, and peaches.  Ex. 2. Organic fruit, vegetables, and herbs.  Free range organic poultry, pork, and beef by the cut.

We're working out details, but the Guide may be printed in a local newspaper and added to the CCCD website. We're exploring other ways to distribute the Guide once it's complete as well.

We're partnering with Antioch University of New England, the Hannah Grimes Center, and Nebesek Marketing and Communication. Our fiscal agent is Cheshire County.
